What's Your Finish Line?

Life is a matter of choice NOT a matter of chance.

What do you think about life?

Do you think some people are rich because they have good chances than those who are poor?

Or do you think there are a lot of poor people because they choose to stay the way they are?

Where do you really stand? Is it a matter of chance or a choice?

I would like to believe that everyone, well, most of us are well informed that we are given freewill. But a lot of people too think that freewill is no big deal in life. Why? Because there's luck. Well, a lot of common Juan Dela Cruz are thinking that way. Thus we could say that gambling is one of the great business industry of our country.

We often think that some people are rich or are well off because they have their luck. They had their chances of being victorious and being rich. They have good chances of life and some are just poorly or even barely given the chance to climb up the social status.

But hey, that's amidst the flooding success stories of people from rags to riches.

Yes, there are a lot of great success stories. But people still chose to rely on luck and chances rather than on choices.

But don't we realize that most of the things that happens to our lives are consequences of our actions in the past?

I like this POST elevated in the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) during my visit in Baguio, it goes "You will learn and grow according to the nature and consequences of your actions." by Robert Anthony. This is exactly the point.

Isn't this right? That we, most of the time, suffer or enjoy the consequences of our actions. It's not that we have no choice, it's just because of what we chose. Saying we have no choice, is already a choice.

Most of the successful people in their field, their expertise, their profession, their sports or their business are brought to the top of their dreams because they chose to continue to pursue their passion. And that's their choice. They chose NOT TO STOP until they succeed.

To pursue success does not mean you don't get tired failing, it's just that you don't consider failure as the finish line. I have also read a poster that said "FAILURE is a DETOUR to SUCCESS."...

The case rest in your hands. You are the jury to your own future. Each to his own action. Now then I guess we could agree, that LIFE is more of a matter of CHOICES than CHANCES.

If you are a fan of basketball then maybe you should know that the famous basketball ICON missed 9000 shots in his career, 300 games, and been trusted 26 times to win the game and failed to do so. But he didn't stop there. This statement he uttered is a must read "If you're trying to achieve, there will be roadblocks. I've had them; everybody has had them. But obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall(failure - seemingly dead-end, and you say no choice at all), don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it." Michael Jordan
